The Institute of Carpenters and CITB collaboration took place on Thursday 26 September in Leeds.
Leeds College of Building hosted the latest Timber Industry College Hub as part of the CITB-IOC Mentoring Champions’ Scheme.
The event was opened with an opening speech from Nikki Davis, Principal/Head of School – Construction captivating an audience of enthusiastic students, apprentices, and staff from across Yorkshire.
Informative presentations followed from a number of interested parties including IOC President, Geoff Rhodes, CITB regional expert Ricky Sandoval, Nick Boulton Timber Development UK and TRA, MEDITE SMARTPLY, American Hardwoods, Historic England and Chris Jones of Lynn & Jones Storefitters, Leeds who talked about his career in the Shopfitting and Interiors Industry.
Several IOC members were also in attendance. The event ended with a networking session led by Lucy Kamall, the IOC Mentoring Champions’ Project Manager.
