A milestone for the craft

Royal support for the wood trades

The Duchess of Gloucester’s patronage is a significant moment for the Institute and for everyone who works in wood.

Widely known for her charitable work, Her Royal Highness brings recognition to the importance of carpentry and woodworking skills across the United Kingdom – skills that shape our built environment and protect our heritage.

Her support strengthens our mission to promote, support and develop our members and the sector, from students taking their first steps in the trade to experienced craftspeople leading the next generation.
