The NAS and IOC have been asked to remind our members about the upcoming changes to the National Minimum Wage (NMW) and National Living Wage (NLW) rates, which are set to take effect from 1 April 2025.
The updated rates are as follows:
Category of Worker | Hourly Rate (from 1st April 2025) |
Aged 21 and above (National Living Wage) | £12.21 |
Aged 18 to 20 | £10.00 |
Aged under 18 (above school leaving age) | £7.55 |
Apprentices under 19 | £7.55 |
Apprentices aged 19+ in first year of apprenticeship | £7.55 |
These changes are designed to ensure fair pay across the workforce and reflect the Government’s commitment to raising earnings, particularly for younger workers and apprentices.
At the NAS and the IOC, we encourage all our Members, contractors, and employers to review their payroll systems and ensure compliance ahead of the April 2025 implementation date. Supporting a fair and well-paid workforce is essential in attracting new talent, retaining skilled professionals, and upholding industry standards.
