Institute of Carpenters teams up with TDWCA and NAS

Posted: Jan 4, 2018

We are delighted to announce that we have recently welcomed the Timber Decking and Cladding Association (HL to http://www.tdca.org.uk) and the National Association for Shopfitters (HL to http://www.shopfitters.org) to our membership.

The Timber Decking and Cladding Association is an independent, not-for-profit technical and advisory body for the timber decking and timber cladding industry. The association offers expert advice and promotes best practice where both material choice and construction is concerned. A recently re-launched website provides interested visitors with ample information and advice, whilst also hosting a comprehensive approved supplier search facility, drilling down to specific components – the only resource of its type dedicated to timber decking and cladding. This same website is also a powerful tool to showcase the strengths and capabilities of the many members who offer quality timber decking and timber cladding products and/or services.

The TDCA also provides a dispute resolution service, should something go wrong. This includes a site visit from an independent expert and a full written report to highlight the findings – an excellent way to prevent a time-consuming dispute between numerous parties and to find an acceptable resolution swiftly. The TDCA continues to welcome membership for high quality suppliers, small and large, from all aspects of the supply chain.

As Janet Sycamore of the TDCA told us “The TDCA is keen to work closely with allied organisations where it brings added benefits to members.  Like us IOC exists to promote good quality practices.  There are definitely some synergies and we look forward to exploring these further these in the new year”.

We also welcome The National Association of Shopfitters.  NAS has successfully represented and promoted the shopfitting and interior contracting sector successfully since 1919.

Interior contracting is a constantly evolving industry, driven by technology and a growing global market that is always looking for new ideas and distinctive approaches. Whether your business fits out retail, leisure, or commercial interiors, the NAS can help you achieve the skills and knowledge you need to complete your projects to a superior standard. We also support customers as they explore their fit-out options, finding the best match for the job.

Offering expert guidance and specialist advice, the NAS brand is recognised by designers and clients alike as the symbol of quality and reliability in shopfitting and interior contracting.

Speaking about the new partnership, IOC President Geoff Rhodes commented "As an expert body for all things shop-fitting related, they're also all about making sure it's installed correctly and we have the perfect people for the job!"
